Municipal elections: the new Futur Montréal party recruits its candidates on social networks
Monday, September 1, 2025 14:52 PM
The new political party Futur Montréal is not neglecting any strategy to recruit candidates and is turning to the social network LinkedIn to find people who will represent the party in the upcoming municipal elections.
The party claims to be looking for professional candidates with very specific profiles.
Futur Montréal has already managed to recruit around ten people through its recent LinkedIn ad, and more are reportedly in the pipeline.
Candidates must of course pass an interview before being recruited.
In an interview with TVA Nouvelles, the leader of the political party, Jean-François Kacou, assured that this is not a desperate strategy.
"[It's to] change the status quo and move towards this professionalization of municipal management because we believe that being elected isn't just about being in the spotlight. It's also about analyzing policies, it's also about implementing regulations that change the lives of citizens. So, for that, we're looking for people who are professional, people who have a background to bring, who are capable of analyzing policies. And it also allows us to get away from groupthink. Sometimes, when you have a professional network, sometimes, it's an echo chamber," explained Mr. Kacou.
