A new candidate is running for mayor of Montreal

Jean-François Kacou is entering the race for mayor of Montreal with the new political party Futur Montréal, TVA Nouvelles has learned.
He will formalize his candidacy on Wednesday morning.

Mr. Kacou served as Director General of the Municipality of Percé. He was also Director General of the Ensemble Montréal party, where he oversaw the process of adopting the party's constitution.
He is also an elected member of the executive committee of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, which contributes to education, culture and global dialogue.

Joël DeBellefeuille, co-founder of the Future Montreal party, describes Mr. Kacou as a "credible leader" who will help redefine the future of the metropolis.
Recall that the Futur Montréal party was founded this year. The political party's mandate is to "promote fairness and accountability."
Jean-François Kacou will address the media on Wednesday morning at a press conference.
