Future Montreal: The official name of the party is now reserved with Elections Quebec
Montreal, April 15, 2025 – It's now official: the name Futur Montréal has been officially reserved with Élections Québec. This milestone marks the official launch of a bold, inclusive new municipal political movement resolutely focused on the future of our city.
Founded by Joel DeBellefeuille and Matthew Kerr, Futur Montréal embodies a clear desire to think outside the box and offer a powerful alternative to traditional political parties. The party places transparency, fairness, and citizen participation at the heart of its mission.
In the coming weeks, Futur Montréal will organize a series of events, public consultations and meetings in the 19 boroughs to mobilize citizens and recruit its 103 future candidates.
The party is currently in the process of gathering the necessary support for its official authorization and invites Montrealers to become members, volunteers or candidates via its website:
